This 1928 Elgin wristwatch from the Legionnaires Series is a lovely example of fine craftsmanship from the art deco era! The two-toned 14k white and yellow gold bezel and case are beautifully engraved with scroll patterns. The barrel-shaped case measures 30.1 x 31.1 mm. The beige dial shows a light patina, Arabic numerals, dot and stick minute marks with luminous hands. The minute hand is syringe-shaped and the hour hand is spade-shaped. The dial also features a sub second hand with Arabic numerals and a stick indice. All hands are blued steel.

This manual-wind Elgin wristwatch features a grade 485, size 4/0s, 7 jewel movement. Grade 485 was the first grade to use the 4/0s size. The movement serial number is 32284053 and the case reference number is 8305152 (written inside of the case back and on the case). At 95 years old, this movement keeps very good time! The case shows some light wear on front with more wear on the case back, that would be consistent with a wristwatch this age that was worn frequently.

The watch is finished with a beautiful two-tone, two-texture, brown leather two-piece strap marked Hong Kong, that has two gold bands and gold buckle.

This antique timepiece will be at home whether in a collection or worn on special occasions!

Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
