This Swatch watch is a promotional piece that was produced by Swatch for Daimler Benz, or as you would know them Mercedes Benz, to promote their merger urgent with Chrysler. Never available in Swatch stores.
The DaimlerChrysler Swatch watch was commissioned by Benz to be given to Chrysler employees and stock holders to get them excited about the historic merger. The merger of the two automakers was to be mutually beneficial -For Mercedes, it was going to give them an expanded market presence in the United States. For Chrysler, it was to bring the precision and standards of quality of the company whose slogan was "The Best or Nothing" to their brand which was plagued with known quality control issues and recalls. Unfortunately, this merger was relatively short lived, and Chrysler was ultimately purchased by the FIAT group. Chrysler executives were too stubborn to adopt the forward thinking and stringent standards held by the famed German automaker.

It is a vintage Swatch quartz watch dated from 1998, Swiss made.
It is a super cool piece! Still all original! It is 33.8mm plastic exhibition round case and lug design. Clear plastic two-piece strap with the Daimler Chrysler name on it.
It is in LOVELY condition! It runs!

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men's watches typically measure between 29-36mm (some larger, some smaller) wide excluding the crown. In the listing details we typically try to do our best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or we failed to do so, please reach out to us. We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust light, when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
The condition is pre-owned.
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended.
